Located east of Calabasas and west of Tarzana, this is a high end neighborhood in the southwest region of the San Fernando Valley that enjoys breathtaking views of the surrounding valley landscapes. Woodland hills real estate is tucked into curving, tree-lined streets and a part of the history to this area is recognizable in the canopy of pepper trees along Canoga Ave. Nearly 300 were planted here by a land owner here in the early 20s.

What was once known as the town of Girard, was developed by a man named Victor Girard, who was a big time developer and some say part-time "scoundrel" of the 20s, whose vision was to build a community amidst the agricultural fields of southwest San Fernando Valley.
As part of his developments he planted not only pepper trees but sycamores, eucalyptus and fir pine, while building a town center at the corner of Topanga Canyon. The town was officially open in 1923, with the renaming to Woodland Hills in 1941.
There are truly stunning estates to be found in the enclaves of this community, reaping unobstructed views and Hollywood-style amenities. Here are just a few of the interior & exterior highlights buyers can find in Woodland Hills homes for sale:
